Mound Systems – How They Work

There are some areas where a traditional septic tank system won’t work. These areas have issues where the soil isn’t ideal for a typical drain field. The Mound System uses an above the natural surface drain field (a mound) that allows the effluent from your septic system the chance to travel farther downward due to the elevated drain field. Your pump tank sends doses of the effluent, basically regulating the amount. The sand used to create the mound will act as a filter.
